An Inner Dialog with the Guru

- Oh beloved Master, be with me at this event that I find so challenging?
- I am always with you.
- Even now?
- Only in the now.

At first, “the answer” is comforting. Both for the being and the ego. Then doubts show up, like, this is not a dialog, this is hallucinations… However, what is true does not seem important, what is important is where it takes me, where I land.

When I contemplate, when I look back - just by phrasing the prayer makes me admit that I cannot do all by myself, hence I open up for the more. Further, whatever happened, I see that I’m reminded that I am alone, but not all alone.

But maybe more important than all else, the Guru lands me in a space of learning. In “Only in the now”, I see how the guru takes me back from a state of worrying to a state of learning, the only state where a disciple shall be… To be with the question, the inquiry, the meditation - that the way to be with the Guru is now. How inspiring, I wish to have this quality, towards myself and towards others - to hold us open for and take us back to a state of learning. It makes me want to dance in joy and awe.
