Father-daughter relationship (transformation)

I was very much a daddy's-girl when I was a child, but when I moved away from him and lived in a different country...it deteroriated, slowly...

I started repairing my relationship with my father in my early 20s, sometime after attending therapy sessions on my own. Only then I was able to communicate with him my struggles and I was surprised how he was able to meet me in that... he responded with acknowledgement and an apology. Later on, he shared his upbringing and journey with me...and for the first time (in my early 20s), I was able to see him as a man, not just as my dad.

Today, he calls me "Baby boss". He sends me heart emojis, he calls to just say "I'm checking on you" or "Where's my son-in-law?" (He really loves Eric)

So when I share with him a photo of me in a new dress, and he says, "looking like a movie star" - I'm reminded of our relatationship and how it's evolved and transformed over the years.
