How our schemas affect the people we love
A schema was set in our earliest bonds, long before we had words for it. Remaining absent, we carry it for the rest of our lives, affecting the people we love.
This is schema-therapy-informed, offered as inquiry, not concluding. A schema is relational: when we go absent, the people closest to us become victims to it. Most often, the move meant to protect us creates the very thing we feared.
Inquiry: How does my schema minus me and the people I love, and what would it look like to stay present instead?
