Daily reflection
I catch myself recently in psychotherapy trainings and art classes, paying attention to one question:” Why did this psychologist/artist do or say this?”I found that when I contemplate this, I see me back in the picture. I was looking at it, not just at a surface level, to get the information. It’s not copying or quoting what others say or do. I was observing the foundation of the work. There are certain rules, principles, and quorum that demand the professionals and artists to follow, and I am looking at that through each one’s individual expressions, then I ask myself, “What do I see? What is my voice?”
I can look, observe, express as a unique individual, and respect the universal rules at the same time. Then others are not bigger, we are the same. That’s a healthy state, an unreduced state.
