Looking after your mental health is just as valid as looking after your body. Be kind to yourself, and check in on the people around you. ❤️

Mental health is something everyone has — not just those going through a hard time. It's a real, complex and changeable part of being human and it's closely tied to our physical health.

Mental health is:
- Important
- Something everyone has
- On a continuum — meaning it works like a sliding scale. At any time you might be thriving, doing okay, or struggling, and you move along that scale throughout life. Everyone sits somewhere on it, and where you are can change.

- Both positive and negative — it's not only about distress or problems. It also includes the good: feeling content, coping with stress, having purpose, and enjoying life. Caring for it means protecting what's going well, not just fixing what's wrong.

- Worth making time for
- Something we all need to look after

Mental health isn't:

- A sign of weakness
- Something shameful or "all in your mind"
- Something you can simply snap out of

- The same thing as mental illness — someone can manage a diagnosed condition well and still have relatively positive mental health
